Coaching You to Become Your Dog's Best Friend

Mike Purcell, CPDT-KSA, is a certified professional dog trainer (CPDT-KSA) and the founder of All Canines Academy in Philadelphia. With over 4,000 hours of hands-on experience and more than 600 dogs trained, Mike is known for his relationship-based approach that emphasizes communication, trust, and clarity between dogs and their humans.

A U.S. military veteran, father, and lifelong dog lover, Mike blends structure and empathy in everything he teaches. He specializes in real-world behavior training—helping dogs and owners navigate everything from puppy basics to complex behavioral challenges with calm confidence.

In addition to his private practice, Mike contributes to the dog training community through his work with ACCT Philly, supporting fosters with training and behavioral guidance, and through his role as a part-time instructor in the New Leash on Life, USA prison rehabilitation program, where he helps incarcerated individuals learn to train and care for shelter dogs as part of a transformative life skills curriculum.

His other works include co-creating and hosting The Unbalancing Dog Training Podcast, a series exploring the philosophy, challenges, and evolution of modern dog training.

Whether he’s working with clients in person or online, mentoring fosters, or sharing insights through writing and teaching, Mike remains committed to one mission: helping people and their dogs live better lives together.
